In October 2012 we received replacement transponders. One of those units needed to be mailed to our daughter in college in upstate New York.

Within two weeks I get an email from ez pass that our account was "successfully replenished". I checked my statement online and was shocked to see that the transponder we had mailed had been charged tolls along the entire route totaling approximately 15.00. I immediately called customer service and a very nice young lady helped me and said she hears things like this all the time and assisted me in disputing the charges. To date ez pass has refused to credit me back the money saying the transponder was accurately charged at the toll crossings regardless of where it was ( on a mailer on the back of a mail truck vs.

the windshield of our registered vehicles). I even requested that ez pass look at the photos that I'm sure were taken at those toll booths and they would see it was a mail truck going through and not one of our passenger vehicles. They refuse with the lame excuse that they only do that when a transponder isn't functioning.

I am so frustrated at this point but refuse to give up on this ridiculous form of "double dipping".

Monetary Loss: $15.

Location: New York, New York

I hate to say it, but you get the kind of government services and oversight you people in New York vote for.
